The BUDDY NEXUS Dive Computer
The BUDDY NEXUS is the first affordable, multi-mode dive computer designed for the full span of your diving career...
Open Circuit sport diving (conventional SCUBA with Air)
Open Circuit Technial Diving (constant FO2 nitrox - up to 2 mixes)
Closed Circuit diving with a constant PO2 Rebreather - such as the
Ambient Pressure Diving Inspiration or Evolution CCRs.

The Nexus is the product of many years diving experience and as a result the design team have made a number of key ergonomic improvements.

The Nexus is simple to operate and easy to read.

The Nexus includes essentials such as:

An LCD layout which clearly communicates key information

Simple water-contact activation switches

Clear audible and visual warnings

Our unique 14" corrugated wrist strap - long enough to fit the bulkiest of dry-suit sleeves

The Nexus allows you to choose between Open Circuit and Closed Circuit modes - without waiting for the computer to desaturate!
Open Circuit

Constant FO2 (fraction of oxygen) mode:

Air diving (FO2 = 21%)

Nitrox diving (FO2 = 21-50%)(including Semi-Closed Circuit systems)

2 Mix Nitrox diving (1st mix FO2(1) = 21-50% and 2nd mix FO2(2) = FO2(1)-100%)

Closed Circuit

Constant PO2 (partial pressure of oxygen) mode:

Designed for use with the BUDDY Inspiration - the Nexus can be used with Closed Circuit Rebreathers that maintain a constant partial pressure of oxygen (constant PO2) with AIR in the diluent cylinder and OXYGEN in the O2-addition cylinder.

The Nexus provides information to the diver by monitoring the dive parameters and calculating no-stop times, decompression obligations and other important factors.

The Nexus supplies the following information:

Dive Time

Depth

Max Depth
Dive Number
No Stop Time (time remaining before a decompression stop is required)
Total Ascent Time (if decompression is required)
Ascent Speed Indicator (bar graph)
Surface Time
Desaturation Time
CNS% (Central Nervous System oxygen toxicity clock)
Current PO2 (in Open Circuit mode)
Current PO2 Setpoint (in Closed Circuit mode)
CC (Closed Circuit) Mode Indication
Water Temperature (Fahrenheit or Celsius)

Warnings

The Nexus gives the following warnings:

PO2 Limit Violation - in Open Circuit mode

CNS% Violation

Decompression Dive has commenced (and every subsequent 30 seconds)
Ascent Rate Violation Warning
Start Ascent (No-Stop Time has expired)
Stop-Depth or Depth-Ceiling (diver must not ascend above this depth)
Move to Stop-Depth (stop-depth has been violated)
Battery Low

Additional Features

Two different programmes - NORMAL(0) and SHORT(1) can be selected based on the physical condition of the diver, water conditions and recent dive history

LCD illumination

Underwater operable switch for illumination and audible alarm option
Dive profile memory
Dive planning mode (dive simulator)
Scroll mode (allows you to scroll through the No-Stop times)
PC download capability
Battery can be replaced by the user without memory loss of dive profile
