A.P.Valves supports "The World's Longest Scuba Dive" - October 2009

The BUDDY Tekwing is the wing of choice for the upcoming Guinness Book of Records' world record attempt by brothers, Declan and Paul Devane and support diver Gary Jennings. The attempt will be held at the Scubadive West Dive Centre in Galway, Ireland on 10th October.

A.P.Valves are proud to support this extreme challenge by donating the Tekwings and the BUDDY Liftbags needed.

The divers hope to do an incredible 40 hour dive at 5m without surfacing. As Paul said: 'It will be October. It will be cold, it will be long. There will be no breaks, no meals, no toilet stops. We want to make it to 40 hours - that's the equivalent of a working week underwater. It will be a challenge.'

The event aims to raise money for children's charities in memory of Declan's
two-year-old son, Cillian, who died in February 2009. Declan will be taking a picture of his son with him on the dive: 'I have no better motivation than to think of my son and all the operations he went through. We have a choice to do this, but he didn't. Compared to what he went through, the cold and the fatigue are the least we can put up with.'
